The service and knowledge are great and everything is explained so that I can understand what's going on. All the Staff are very efficient and friendly and I feel at ease when my cat has had to stay over and has had a few operations, I was abroad on one occasion and Liz called me daily to give me a thorough update. This is why I would thoroughly recommend MEDIVET and I live in Hadleigh so it's well worth getting stuck in the traffic at rush hour to get my cat seen to.

We always receive a first class service, whichever vet is available. The waiting room is very spacious which is better for us, when you have a dog who is a bit nervous. We would recommend you to any of our friends.

Always meet by Lovely well presented friendly staff who genuinely care for the animals they are treating and the owners too.My animals and I are frequent visetors to our local medi vet canvey island and i have always felt they have given an excellent service with a lovely atmosphere too.I think they are a fabulous team and thank them sincerely for all they do.

While on holiday my dog developed a limp my daughter who was looking after her (Lacey a Newfoundland dog] My daughter paid one hunderd and seventy pounds for a examination Pain injection and tablets. but was told that she would need Xray cost SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS . and the insurance we had with medivet was only for 10% discounts on treatments flea tablets and worming tablets. When I called them to confirm that the price was correct for xray and explain the cost. I did tell Medivet Canvey Island that Riverside vets on Canvey quoted the same treatment for four hundred pounds less but was given no reasonable explanation as to why they would do the same treatment just charge more. The outcome was that my Lacy went to Riverside and had bone cancer and she was humanly Euthanized , i had a direct debit with Medivet health plan and cancelled the direct debit with them as we no longer have Lacy medivet charged me Fifty nine pounds. for the discounts they gave me for the treatment of my Lacey prior to her death, Never trust that the price you are given for the treatment of your pet is fair and always get a second price as someone is making a lot of money on the well being and the love you have for your pet.

We are really sorry that you felt your experience with us didn’t meet your expectations, and we are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your beloved dog, Lacey. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. We always endeavour to provide clear and accurate information. As we believe in using evidence-based medicine, we estimated for full limb X-rays originally, as the area of which the pain was couldn’t be identified (the cost for this was £117). The insurance you referred to is actually our Medivet Healthcare Plan, which unfortunately is not insurance cover but rather a preventative healthcare plan that enables clients to cover the cost of all their pet’s preventative healthcare via an affordable monthly direct debit. This includes annual booster vaccinations, flea and worm treatment and a 10% discount on veterinary care and medication. We always aim to make this information clear to clients before they sign up to the plan. Unfortunately, we were not informed that Lacey had been euthanized which is why the full price for medication was charged. We have now rectified this as we have now been made aware that sadly, Lacey is no longer with us. Our practice partner and vet, Lizzie, welcomes the opportunity to talk to you further about this, so please do contact us at your earliest convenience.

We took our dog to Medivet as she was out of sorts and her teats was were inflamed. We were told that she was having a phantom pregnancy and prescribed medication to dry up her milk. £60 later, she was still unwell and needed to revisit the surgery. We were then told that she had a bladder disease and needed a scan. Luckily, Lizzie scanned her there and then only to be told she was pregnant and needed an emergency Caesarian at £800. I had to make a snap decision there and then to save our dog. On returning to the vets, the same Russian vet told us that our dog was healing nicely and her stitches were dissolvable so we didn't need to go back yet when we took the pup in, we were told the stitches needed removing the following week. It has been one wrong diagnosis after another with this vet and friends have had similar bad experiences with her also. Definitely ask around if thinking of joining a vet practice!

We’ve never left reviews before, but feel the need to do so… Our bison is 13 years old and up until a few months ago, been in reasonably good health. Our dog had been panting heavily over a few weeks (which we thought was caused by the warm weather), but decided to take him to Medivets to check. Upon examination, he’s heart murmur had progressed and he had fluid on the lungs, which he was given an injection to help shift this. We were told that we needed to make a decision by that evening, regarding he’s health (euthanize or medication), so we paid for their services and left shocked and upset. Our dog thankfully showed an improvement by late evening, so we went with the medication option. We paid the price of Medivets medication (as we’ve always done), but were told they’d price match if we found cheaper online and if this was the case, print off the proof and hand it in at reception. We were extremely shocked that Medivet, was 3 times the amount of its competitors, so obviously printed the proof and handed it in as they suggested, as this medication is for life. Medivets wouldn’t price match as they suggested and they also changed the costs to one of the medications, because they couldn’t find it online at that price (yet we provided the proof as they’d asked, so Medivets- “why not just change all the evidence of quotes, as its pointless giving you any proof in the first place”). Medivets also wouldn’t give the same quantity of one of the medications either… the “Head Nurse” states “they couldn’t give the 500 tablets (as in the quote), as this was a year’s worth of medication and they wouldn’t give an animal more than 6 months of any medication, as they need to be checked”… I fully understood this, but told Head Nurse “you’ve given just 168 tablets, which is 3 months’ worth”? The Head Nurse said “Well we’d need to charge you more for 6 months”… I replied “But the quote online was for 500 and Medivets said you’d price match, so surely you should then give at least the maximum amount for 6 months then? NO she said! My online quote was £46.85, I’ve just paid Medivets £72.97 (which is better than their previous extortionate costs), this did included 3 prescription’s, for the 3 different medications, but if I paid 3 times the amount for their original costs, then any prescription costs would be waved! When mentioning this to the Head Nurse, she said “we are a business and we don’t hold much stock”!!! Yes Medivets, you are certainly a business and one that is clearly about profit, over the health of a dog and I also don’t know why you bother mentioning that you price match, because you clearly do NOT!!! Pet-ploitation!!!!

Due to legal requirements with all prescription medication, we are unable to prescribe an animal with more than 6 months of any medication (as they need to be checked) so we are sorry that we were unable to supply you with the quantity you wanted. I have just been to this vets for the first time to have my daughters lovely hamster put to sleep and after I was charged £45! I was so shocked at how much this cost me they should be ashamed of themselves! The last hamster I had put to sleep only charged me £7 I will not be going back there again!

They quickly idetified that somehow my dog had managed to eat a sharp piece of metal (pin, nail, needle or similar). They literally used all of their resources and expert knowledge, which resulted in two operations - 1 at Canvey and then after a CT scan another operation at Medivet Hendon. Lizzie and all of the vets at both practices kept us informed at all times and we had every confidence in their work. An object was removed from close to my dogs Liver after it had left through the side of his stomach! The care that BOB received was amazing and I believe a total success story for Medivet. Without them it would have been a different story entirely I'm sure. Regular updates were given by the Vets and also from their support nurses, a fantastic team all round. Thankyou So Much
