I have used Barnsley Vets For Pets for all of my pets. I have found them to be friendly and always good with the animals. I recently had to rush my dog through and it came as a huge shock when we had to make the decision to put him to sleep. We were heartbroken but the vet Vicktor and all of the staff were amazing. They show such love and compassion for our beloved pet and every time I rang they offered me reassurance and nothing was too much trouble. I have used another vets in the past and it felt clinical and cold - the receptionists booked you in and took your money with no care or concern for me and my pet. The vets weren't much better. But in Vets for pets it feels so different. All the staff chat , fuss over your animals , offer support and genuinely seem to love working with them. so thank you to all of you and keep doing what you are doing - you are all FAB!

i have been useing this vet for years with my hamsters cost me a small fortune lol they worth it. i bought a pup and had her insured an registered instantley at vets for pets always been happy with staff and cere alway polite and friendley and alway recomended. ive never owend a dog at all so im very unsure about things and very over protective with my female springer i had been advised to get her spayed so i fone on about the 10/11/16 and was asked for info on how to book in an what would be hepening she told me shed get the nurse to call me back an explain it all to me (realy gratefull). but no call came i foned back in afternoon an spoke to the reception told her an she explaind a little (very helpfull) an i booked her in 17/11/16 for key hole an was told the nurse would fone day b4 NO FONE CALL took her in this morning half asleep an the nurse who was lovley to me an my pet started telling me about extra costs for thing they could do b4 surgery half asleep i complaind about nit been told about this an she told me we like to tell u this b4 hand (like when a nurse fones u). i opted for not having the extras threw been anoied. all i would say is peter giv your staff dealing with call backs a kick up the backside realy like what u all do but very disapointed this morning i was worried at havin it done and am now a nervess wreck even more now hopeing i made the correct call. for me they have took a dificult thing for me to do and made it worse wouldnt have minded extra costs if id gone for the cheap option but went for the dear 1 thinging it was all in SORT IT OUT PETER
Vet ResponseDear Andrew, I apologise that you didn't receive the pre-operative phone call which we usually do, the nurse who was tasked with that day's calls misunderstood the request note, and thought the phone call had already been performed, she asked me to pass on her apologies for the misunderstanding. I spoke with the admissions nurse who saw you yesterday morning and she passed on your complaint at the time and then I understand you spoke with my wife Caroline after the laparoscopy who also apologised to you. We believe that the minimally invasive nature of laparoscopic surgery is of great benefit to our patients in reducing pain and post operative complications, and we offer this service at a very reasonable price when compared to other practices who do keyhole surgery, our prices range from £180-£270 where most charges I have seen elsewhere are over £400. The operation was performed quickly and efficiently and I understand she was back with you within a few hours after dropping her off. I'm pleased to note that you had your post-operative phone call this lunchtime and would hope that you could judge us on the quality of these events rather than the omission of the pre-op call which appears to have been a genuine misunderstanding. I basically said everything above in the reason for my score, I know it's a hamster and not a large animal or pet but stormfly was our pet we loved her just the same as we would a dog etc and the vets were absolutely fantastic the receptionists also were brilliant they were all sympathetic, kind, loving, gentle people and I couldn't thank Them enough for today, we were very upset even though we held back the emotions until we got home but everyone at the practice were so lovely! And kind and sympathetic thank you guys for everything keep up the good work!! X

My little Boarder Terrier (Ginny) has only been there on 2 occasions for her initial jabs and on both occasions she was made welcome and found the Staff great. Thanks V4P for this great service. Highly recommended.

Took my jrt on friday for anal gland removal, after recommendations from my normal vet due to recurring infections and problems. First class service, regular update on phone through out day on post op, night staff telephone me next morning on how he had done through night, how many cuddles , and what he was doing at that precise time. On discharge all after care explained very well.wound site very clean and neat. door opened and my dog came through wagging tail, i was shocked after this operation. Took him home today and he doing fab, no pain or problems. Anal gland removal can be tricky operation, but i recommend this practice for the procedure .

This vet was fabulous, the receptionists are realy nice. they are a very child friendly place they even explained are little cats illness to my daughter. after some medication Fluffy was right as rain. they are amazing vets! I recommend them to everyone

It is amazing all the staff there were unbelievably kind by far the best vets I have ever been to. They saved the life of my little dog I loved my experience.

Rang vets for pets barnsley on Sunday after finding my Felix age the bottom of the stairs his back end had gone. They told me to take him straight there. From arriving they were truly wonderful David the vet was so supportive and kept us constantly upto date with his responses and advised us of any outcomes..he was supportive in our decision and left us to say our good byes in peace before taking my baby..my heart broke that day but the staff were totally great Thankyou

First met Peter when he first opened Vets 4 Pets and came out to my home to put to sleep my old dog. We were not even registered with the practice. So when we got our new dog we came and registered. The care has been second to none and Peter really got to know our Bobby over the past 14 years(he was a rescue dog). Likewise Bobby got to know him. Bobby was coming to the end of his life and now nearly 16 years old. and was seeing Peter on a regular basis with his medication. Then all of a sudden Bobbys condition got worse and we knew the time had come. Rang the vets on the Friday asking for a home visit to be told they do not do home visits. Then they said they could come out the following Wednesday. Why? is because the practice is now getting too big? Feel truly let down. To do home visits when first starting up whether your dog was registered or not was not a problem. We always believe that when the time comes to say good bye to your dog it is done in its own home environment surrounded by familiar things. Needless to say we will be transferring our other dog onto another practice. We rang Abbey Vets Saturday morning at 9 a.m. explained how we had been let down by our vet of 12 years or so. By 9.45 a.m. we had a visit from the vet and nurse.So kind and compassionate. They were brilliant. Need to look at your "End of Life " policy Peter or you will lose other clients
Vet ResponseDear Janet, I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to arrange to do a home visit for Bobby, we had issues with getting a vet available to leave the practice. If it could have been possible to cover the workload and hospital patients we had in, you know that I would have come out. Home visits aren't always easy to arrange, especially at short notice due to the 24 hour care needs of looking after the hospitalised patients, some of whom are critically ill, and I am truly sorry we couldn't arrange this for you at this upsetting time. It's really upset me personally that I couldn't be there for him and it's really upset me that you feel let down, as that's the last thing I would ever want after all these years. If I could change this situation, I would in a heartbeat. Peter
