I was very happy with the service provided by the vet. He was friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. I wasn't too discouraged by the cost of the two blood tests either, at £157. However, I was disgusted at the price of a bottle of liquid Ranitidine (Zantac), £55 is an absolute joke. I can buy it in tablet form at 79p for 12. Needless to say if any treatment is needed in the future, I will not be buying medication from Vets4Pets.

I highly recommend our vets to everyone, top quilaty care from everyone, shola is an amazing vet and we cannot praise them enough for all the work they do with our rescue animals. I completely trust them with all my animals including my rescued girl who doesn't trusty anyone. If you want a honest, kind, loving vets then this is the vets for you.

Sadly on Tuesday we had to have our Staffie put to sleep, the care and compassion shown by the vet Mr Livesly was absolutely brilliant. We were shown to a private room where we were given time to say our goodbyes and the care shown by him was magnificent.

I took my cat in as an emergency for a broken leg and was seen within 20 minutes of me calling up and getting to the vets. Been under the vets now for 3 months and each visit has been so professional and caring. All staff know Saffy by name and the nurses have decorated the leg with coloured bandages and motifs to please my four year old daughter which was a nice touch. Shola has been the vet who performed the delicate operation which involved having four steel rods into her legs. He kept me informed on a daily basis and provided photos.

I can't praise practise enough. I've dealt with Sue Margerison / Care Assistant a few time now and she always goes above and beyond to put me an anxious fur baby mum at ease. Always a pleasure to deal with and a valuable member of the lovely team

I cannot recommend Companion Care Vets enough, every visit I have had has been a pleasurable one. My dog has allergies and we are fairly frequent visitors for treatments, we are always made to feel welcome and always greeted with a friendly warm smile. I can always get an appointment when I need it and the vets are caring and very knowledgeable giving every option of treatments available, not pushing for one particular treatment, making the choice yours. They do not rush you out the door if it takes a little longer than usual, genuinely caring about your pet. I have been to several local vets over the years but will now be staying put. Prices are much lower than other vets so more affordable. I cannot praise them enough, 5 stars all round.

this was the first time I had used this practice, I was very pleased in all respects, with the care and the staff. I only have one negative comment, I was not told that as a pensioner I could have had the operation done the following day and would have qualified for a 10% discount, which would have helped me, as I will not be covered by my insurance for any reimbursement.

Since my visit I compared your prices with on line companies and I have seen that there is a large mark up on the price charged by yourselves compared with the on line companies.I am pretty sure this is industry wide and is not isolated to your company , that being said I live on a fixed income and I found it very expensive when the purchase of drugs are needed. My feeling is that either the profit margin on drugs is made more reasonable ,or people should be made aware that they have have the option to follow the prescription route .I look at the issue as industry wide and truly believe that the issue that will become more prominent as more people become aware of it. I am totally happy with the service provided by your practise and will be returning for follow up visits

Vet Response

Thank you for your email regarding prices at our Basildon surgery. Veterinary medicine can always be found cheaper online because these companies are buying medicines in bulk, have no other overheads to consider and are only trying to provide the cheapest product rather than the best value overall service (including consultations, surgery and wider surgery abilities). When medicine is purchased from a vet directly, we consider it important to note that you are buying the veterinary skill and expertise on the correct use of any given product. This also includes the support for any issues that may arise from its use. While many internet pharmacies are of a high quality the correct product and strength of product cannot be guaranteed from some online sites. We are always happy to provide a prescription for a small charge so the medication can be purchased from an online pharmacy so feel free to ask for one at any time. We consider our prices to be fair and competitive for the veterinary industry and do review our prices on a regular basis and all feedback is taken into consideration at these times. We hope this helps explain why surgery prices will always be more than internet prices. I am very pleased to hear the service you have received at the surgery has been good.

We found out our cat needed emergency surgery after being rushed in with a blocked bladder! We had no insurance and were told it was going to be over £2000 we came to a very reasonable agreement as the Practice Manager was very helpful and agreed to help us. I can thank him enough for saving our cat! Lovely friendly nurses/vets who generally care and an all round lovely place!!
