around 2-3 years ago my Arab Scally was referred to Cotts at my request for Sarcoid treatment. He had already had 2 lots of Liverpool cream & the Sarcoids removed by lazer under a general anaesthetic at Liverpool over the previous 3 years & each time the Sarcoids had returned, if somewhat less aggressive. I heard some good reports about the treatment from Cotts so asked my Vet to refer me. Scally had 3 treatments (Injections into the Sarcoid at 4 sites, under sedation) a month apart plus daily topical treatment with Acyclovir cream. the Sarcoids subsequently fell off around a month later. 12 months after that one small pea sized Sarcoid reappeared which again fell off after just one repeat treatment. That was approx. 18 months ago & there is no sign of the reappearance of sarcoids so far although it is always possible they will reappear again. Shaun (Vet who treated Scally) kept me well informed during the treatment & advised me that Sarcoids really need to be managed rather than for us to expect to cure them. I would advise anyone who has a horse with Sarcoids to ask to be referred to Cotts, the treatment, in my opinion, was far more successful than previous treatment, although that may have helped in curtailing the growth of the Sarcoid making them more open to the Cotts injections, & the treatment was also far less aggressive than Liverpool cream making it easier & more acceptable to my Horse, It also had the plus I didn't have to leave him there, he was at Liverpool for a week after Lazer surgery & the cost is certainly very competitive to other treatments we have had. So if you are considering Cotts I would say go for it you won't regret it......... oh & the staff are brilliant as well :-)

Cotts Farm Equine is an amazing practice. All the vets are extremely knowledgeable, approachable and reassuring. They are real experts and we are so lucky to have them looking after our two donkeys. The support staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble it seems for anyone at this practice.

Cotts have looked after my horses since the practice started, both routine tasks and emergencies including colic surgery. All the vets, stable and office staff are friendly, helpful and efficient and the facilities are excellent. I can\'t recommend Cotts highly enough - they\'re stuck with me and my horses as clients for as long as they\'ll have us!

Received a first class professional and compassionate service from all the team at Cotts on both the occassions that our Section B filly underwent her colic operations. The first a complicated immpaction as a foal and then as a three year old. After which she has been given the \'all clear\', but we are still ever watchful. The service we received, the aftercare and ongoing concern for this filly has been exceptional. I really cannot thank the team enough. Without them we would not have a happy, cheeky youngster with a huge future in front of her. We in South and West Wales are very fortunate to have such a superb facility available to us within our area. Many, many thanks, YrEnfys Stud.

My horse a 4 year old mare, whilst away in training sustained a number of wire cuts to her hindlegs and a serious possiblibly life threatening injury to her pastern that extended deep into the hoof capsule under the frog. She was initally seen by Holly who having assessed that this was a potenitally very serious wound recommeded immediate referal into Cotts for emergency surgery to debride the wound, xray and assess the extend of the possible damage to the underlying stuctures of the hoof with particular emphasis on damage to the tendon sheath and possibly the navicular bursa. Both of which are very serious injuries. Although this happened late at night the vets and support staff were fantastic. Holly rang me at 10.30pm when she arrived with my horse at Cotts and I then met her, Shaun, and Dan where they clearly explained what they planned to do and the possible outcome. Within 20 minutes of her arriving she had been prepared for surgery and was off to theatre. Luckily the op was not too long and she was in recovery within the hour. Shaun who carried out the surgery rang me as soon as he had finished with a full report of what he had done and found. My horse was very very lucky in that she had come within 5mm of damaging the tendon sheath. I am very lucky to have the services of such skilled surgeons who knew what to look for. She had to stay in for a week at Cotts, during which time all the staff have been fantastic and extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble, and every question is answered in a kind friendly way. All horses at Cotts recieve 24 hour care and are constantly monitored, so I could rest assured that she was getting the very best of care at all times and knew that if something had developed I would have been contacted straightway. She is now home and making good progress. I cannot recommend Cotts Farm Equine Hospital highly enough. I have them as my routine yard vets due to every vet having an extensive specialist knowledge of horses and when this emergency arose they certainly excelled themselves. Thank you very much to the whole team for their wonderful care of both the horse and me.
