Please do not take Pet plan with Goddard Vet clinic. I was very disappointed that we were told our cat could not get 6 monthly check up due to Covid 99 situation yesrerday. I have not been refunded the payment I have been making for the 6 monthly check up under Pet plan. When I insisted that the cat be checked as there were the same issues as discussed in the previous health check, I was given an appointment but charged for it. Although it appeared that my cat had no temperature and same weight and no other issues, the Vet gave him antibiotics. When I challenged his decision on both counts he said the cat might have upper respiratory infection. However there are no reasons for him to think that other than my comment about cat’s runny nose and heavy breathing. Both these conditions were there in the previous check up as well. I believe that the Vet came up with an illness so he could charge me for consultation.

Vet Response

We’re very sorry you had cause for concern around your cat’s health and our charging. Owing to the Covid 19, pandemic we’re able to conduct 6 month health ProActive Pets plan checks only via video or telephone consultation and not in practice. ProActive Pets is a preventative healthcare plan which covers general wellbeing, vaccination and parasite control for a 12 month period as well as offering discounts on other services such as the cost veterinary consultations and these entitlements continue despite any other health issues or illnesses a pet may otherwise experience. Having informed your vet of several health issues that then required subsequent diagnosis and a prescribing of medication/course of treatment meant that your pet’s vaccination booster needed postponing for health reasons. These kinds of treatment i.e. of illnesses or injuries need to be covered by either pet insurance or by clients directly. Your pet’s booster will of course remain part of your entitlement under the ProActive Pets plan once it is safe to administer. Please do call us and ask to speak with our regional manager who will be more than happy to discuss the concerns you mention with you directly.

We took our 11 year old cat to the vets following our concerns over he's health. The vet Leonard was very thorough, kind and thoughtful to both our cat and ourselves while organising various tests. Our cat has now been diagnosed with diabetes. Leonard and the veterinary team talked us through the process of injecting insulin taking care to make sure we felt confident before leaving. We have to order repeats of the insulin and the staff always check on his well being. We highly recommend this vets practise.

I popped in for advice on my dog and I was greeted by the nurse I believe called Anna. She was very friendly and my dog Diego absolutely loved her. Very informative and professional and answered all my questions patiently. Nice to have a friendly face. I will be back to register.

I have been very happy wity=h the current vet James Ede who started at the practice In January 2016. Before this, myself and other pet owners hadn't been happy with the vet for some years so most of us made visits to Mandeville in Northolt for our appointments even though Goddards Harrow Weald was just down the down the road. I am very happy now with the expertise that James has!

We brought our elderly cat in for a check up and after thorough examination the vet (James) correctly diagnosed the problem the first time round. He performed all the correct tests (without unnecessary duplication) whilst updating us with the results along the way. James was well versed, articulate and it was obvious that he has extensive knowledge as a veterinarian. James gave us ample professional material to understand the condition of our cat and superb advice/recommendations to resolve the issue. James then personally performed the surgery needed, followed up with us immediately after and even went into the clinic at 11pm at night (his own personal time) to check up on our cat and provide us with "real time" updates. We have only James and Goddard Veterinary Group (Harrow Weald) to thank for saving our cat. Needless to say, we have had bad experiences in the past that lead to costly bills and an sad outcome of our pet. We cannot recommend this Vet highly enough, they are truly experts and carry out everything they do passionately. 10/10!

Really nice new vet at the practice. James was great with my Cocker Spaniel Marley who is scared stiff going in for anything. He took time to get to know Marley and reassure him. Sewed up Marley's rear pad and did a great job after vet at different practice failed. James is a good vet and a really nice bloke with very friendly staff, would highly recommend.
