Thank you so much to two of the veterinary surgeons. First, Vicky who saw and treated Hattie Russel, our dog on Monday 16 th September, evening out of hours when she gave the highest possible care to our dog. Hattie had suddenly been unable to stand or walk late in the evening. After a telephone consultation we took her into Chorley Hillcrest where Vicky very carefully and thoroughly examined her. Vicky prescribed and provided medicine to help our dog, suggesting several days of rest and precise detail of administering the tablets. Hattie recovered well and was standing and walking the following day. She suffered a relapse on Thursday evening when again she was unable to stand or walk. A telephone call to a second lady veterinary surgeon on the out of hours number provided exact and precise instruction on increasing Hatties medication together with the offer of seeing her at the surgery or more telephone consultation should it be required. Today Hattie is up and about in the house and garden. Thank you both for your kindness, care and extensive knowledge which has helped Hattie so much. Jenny and Don

Our much loved 10 year old Labradoodle recently became lame and we feared the worst when she was unable to move from her bed and seemed to be deteriorating quickly. After trying two different medications and being diagnosed with osteoarthritis, she has made an amazing recovery, regaining mobility and quality of life. We have seen two different vets, both extremely kind and patient with our questions, been given appointments on the same day requested and the service from receptionists, nurses and vets has been exceptional. The professionalism of the staff, the caring approach and the detailed explanation and shared concern for our pet have been much appreciated. Thank you for such a comprehensive and compassionate service.

We have a young Labrador who has recently been off colour. I telephoned the surgery a week ago and was given an appointment later that day at Buckshaw with Rob. We were seen on time and Bertie was treated and given some medication. A follow up appointment was made for the Monday at Chorley, again with Rob, who was again extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We have visited again this morning for a final check and some much appreciated advice. We would like to thank Rob for his care regarding our Labrador. We are aware he is a locum at the surgery, we think we are lucky to have met him. Thank you Rob.

Every time I visit I have to wait at least 30 mins after my appointment time, today I arrived 15 mins early but didn't get to see a vet until 45 mins later. Painfully slow service charged at a premium!

Unfortunately my old friend Spike who we had for many years suffered poor health recently mainly due to his advanced years. Despite the best efforts of your staff it was necessary to put him to sleep today. I normally deal with your Eccleston Branch but it was necessary to use your Chorley facilities due to his symptoms. I wish to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to all your staff involved in his care. Obviously you operate as a team so I'm not singling anyone person out but I would like to mention Hetty and Meghan who were directly involved in his care. I am indebted to them for their compassion and understanding. So thank you to all staff at Hillcrest both Chorley and Eccleston for the service you provide. Kind Regards Stuart Turner.

Brought my poorly 12 year old cocker and apparently today it’s more important to tell me 4 times I will have to pay the emergency fee which is significantly more than normal to be seen also other people are here with booked appointments and will be upset if I go first no reassurance at all just cost and wait times very poor where has the caring gone

I have reviewed the notes from your recent visit and can see that there was not an emergency and as such we do reiterate that if you insist on an emergency consultation, then you would be charged accordingly. We also reiterate, when there will likely be a wait to ensure you are aware of the expected delay. I can see from the notes that we have now transferred your notes to an alternative practice. I can't praise everyone enough especially Bertie who performed Bailey's operations. They were really sympathetic and put my mind at rest as they know how important Bailey is to me, a very spoilt boy. I don't hesitate in recommending Hillcrest when speaking to other doggie mums and dads. I can't thank them enough xx

I have used Hillcrest for many years now and always had expert support. Yesterday was a very sad day for us here as we had to say goodbye to our special friend "Gizmo" our border collie. Gizmo really hated his visits to the vet for just routine stuff and I could not face taking him down to Chorley for his final trip. Arrangements were made for the vet to come to our house and though a horrible day Gizmo was allowed to pass away quietly and peacefully in my arms on our lawn in the sunshine with kindness, care and dignity from the two Hillcrest staff.
