Two very concerned cat owners received first rate service from getting a prompt appointment for understanding staff on the phone through to excellent professionalism from the vet, Charlotte. Her clear prognosis provided us with clear instructions as to how to proceed with the necessary treatment. The follow up contact a few days later was great and underlined the very evident care being offered to both us and our ageing, poorly and much loved cat.

Been with the surgery for over 30 years. Trust the vets implicitly. What more can I say

I rang the vet on a Saturday because my dog was very distressed, the vet and a assistant called within a hour or so and were so so friendly and caring, and knowledgable. I will always be grateful to Maria Tokarska for helping my dog in this worrying time. Thank you.

I have been a client for over twenty years with a number of cats and would recommend this practice to anyone.Reception staff/nurses are welcoming, helpful and efficient. Vetinary standards are high and time is given to discuss treatment and options. This personal/professional ethos has always been the case and I hope that it continues after the retirement of John Borragio. True it can be expensive (it does seem to have gone up more since the Medivet takeover) but that seems to be the case everywhere and I have always felt the vets are aware of this and keep the cost as low as possible. Thank you.

We use Medivet mainly due to it being so close to home and our cats do not travel well. The vets and staff are very good as well. The main critiscm I have is the prices which are so high. Although my cats do have insurance we still have to pay any bills below the £100 excess, which most are for general stuff such as annual boosters, worming etc. But I feel that the prices which seem to keep rising almost each time are becoming out of reach for many people and even with insurance cover you still have to pay the bill up front whilst waiting for the claims process.

Sophie was our cat aged 16 years. On the morning of 18 January 2016 we knew the time had come to say goodbye. Sophie was listless and unable to support herself when standing. She had been running around the day before as though a kitten. Prior to this she had slowed down and looked her age. The vet agreed that Sophie was close to the end and agreed induced sleep was the kindest thing we could do for her. Needless to say we were distraught. There was no pressure from the vet to hurry up and go. We were asked what arrangements we had in mind after Sophie had passed away. Again no pressure. Sophie had a private cremation. The staff at Medivet could not have been kinder. The Waiting Room was full of empathy and a box of tissues provided by the staff. Having dealt with the death and funeral arrangements for our parents, Sophie was given the same dignity and respect for the on-going care and end of life decisions she received at Medivet Birstall for Sophie. Thank you to all concerned.
