I have been going to this vets for over 8 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have lived in many places and always dreaded looking for a vets as I never knew if I would get treated with respect or if my pets would get the best treatment. I’ve had some bad experiences so when my mum started to go to Oakville Vets in Lawley Telford and they saved her litter of 8 bulldog puppies I decided to also start going there.
I had one of the pups and 5 1/2 years ago added another bulldog and a pug to my brood. When 3 years ago my female had pups and a week later developed the worst form of mastitis a dog can get Sarah jumped into action. The teats turned black and died within hours and so after starting her on antibiotics Sarah decided to try laser treatment. I was over the moon and so relieved when within 24 hours the smell went and she actually started to heal. It took a few weeks of daily treatments, infusions and as much care as we could all give her to bring her back from the brink. I didn’t have the funds for all this so Sarah allowed me to pay for everything once I sold the pups, who all survived and whom I bottle raised - all nine.
Then in November last year I sadly lost my pug within 9 days of her developing a cough. They did everything possible but she didn’t make it and died in my arms at 3am. I couldn’t bare to see her that way so after wrapping her in a blanket my son put her in my car. I drove to the vets that morning at a time that wasn’t busy, all arranged on the phone. They gently took her out of my car and with tender love ensured she was cremated. I lost her son at 3 weeks in 2014. He developed a burst trachea and Sarah took him gently to the back because he was becoming distressed and we didn’t want him to feel any needles when he had to go to sleep. So to make it as calm as possible she gave him gas to put him to sleep and they again gently took him to be cremated. My pug Coco was everything and the day I had to hand her over the receptionist, Moia, sat through her lunch hour in one of the rooms with me and listened for over an hour , comforting me and helping me to understand.
This year my other bulldog delivered 7 of her 11 pups but the last four wouldn’t budge. She went in for emergency c-section and one had got stuck. We sadly lost him and another but they saved the other two. They treated and nursed mum back and helped us raise those 9 pups who are all healthy and happy.
I would recommend them to anyone and the fact they are like a family in which they include us is amazing. They know me, all my dogs and everything we’ve been through. They allowed me to settle my bills once my pups were sold and I can phone them about anything and they will do whatever they can to help. Truly an amazing place and atm they are helping my Arthur, my 8 year old bulldog - where it all began - with laser treatment on his shoulder and he’s already walking a lot better. A small family vets who treat you like family. I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else as long as I am within driving distance. We all make mistakes and we all learn but they go above and beyond anything I have ever experienced in a vets. They fought for my girl when another vet wanted to put her down. She’s still going strong and is a very big character. Thank you thank you Sarah (vet and owner) Zoe, Jeff, John, Moia, Sarah (nurse), Harley, Fizz, Sue and everyone I may have forgotten carry on with the amazing work you do ❤️❤️❤️
