So sorry to hear Geoffrey Christiansen is leaving today. He's shown great kindness and respect to my cats especially pippa with her illness. What a wonderful man, Shropshire answer to Noel Fitzpatrick. All the reception staff are lovely Sue, Sarah, Harley. Best vets I've ever been to as they have lots of respect for your pet!

I started going to Oakville vets after getting my bulldog Arthur in 2009. I have never looked back. From the moment you walk in you feel like you are part of their family. They get to know you and your pet and show everyone complete respect. They have saved the life of two of my dogs over the past 5 years and even when your pet is well again they continue to want to know how they are getting on and unlike some i’ve been to its not always about the money. It’s always about the pets welfare. Despite doing everything I unfortunately lost my pug last year and they were fantastic. Moia sat with me through her lunch break to console me. They took my baby out of the car for me and handled her with dignity, love and care because I couldn’t bare to see her that way. It’s hard to put into words how much they do for me and how much they care. But even if I moved away from this area I would try and come back to them because I know they care so much. They have helped me and my dogs more than I can remember. I can’t ever repay them for the kindness, caring and love they have given me and my furry babies. I would recommend them to anyone. Look at it this way Sarah, who owns the surgery decided to collaborate with mediate because she didn’t want to spend more time on paperwork than on treating pets. Now if that isn’t dedication I don’t know what is. When my bulldog went into labour three of them helped over a few hours to deliver them and when one got stuck they jumped into action and within ten minutes did a c-section and had the remaining pups out. I could go on and on because there is so much to say. But to sum it up. If you love your pets and want the best for them, not just treatment but love, dedication and care, then go there. Every vet there and every member of the team, from nurse to receptionist all care and give 120% every day. I see them as an extension of my family and can’t thank them all enough for everything they have done and continue to do.

Since discovering Oakville Vets in late 2015 I would never go anywhere else again. My springer Charles developed a large lump on his side, Geoffrey was so amazing with his surgical skills and after care. The lump was cancerous but he removed it all even though it was not straight forward. My other springer developed a large solid mass on her back leg, she is an elderly dog but Geoffrey removed the lump again, such great skill as we thought she would lose her back leg, this again was cancerous but she has been brilliant ever since. Amazing skill and so caring. If I see him in the street he always asks how they both are. Excellent staff, really care about the animals not just in it for the money. Keep up the good work guys!

I have been going to this vets for over 8 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have lived in many places and always dreaded looking for a vets as I never knew if I would get treated with respect or if my pets would get the best treatment. I’ve had some bad experiences so when my mum started to go to Oakville Vets in Lawley Telford and they saved her litter of 8 bulldog puppies I decided to also start going there. I had one of the pups and 5 1/2 years ago added another bulldog and a pug to my brood. When 3 years ago my female had pups and a week later developed the worst form of mastitis a dog can get Sarah jumped into action. The teats turned black and died within hours and so after starting her on antibiotics Sarah decided to try laser treatment. I was over the moon and so relieved when within 24 hours the smell went and she actually started to heal. It took a few weeks of daily treatments, infusions and as much care as we could all give her to bring her back from the brink. I didn’t have the funds for all this so Sarah allowed me to pay for everything once I sold the pups, who all survived and whom I bottle raised - all nine. Then in November last year I sadly lost my pug within 9 days of her developing a cough. They did everything possible but she didn’t make it and died in my arms at 3am. I couldn’t bare to see her that way so after wrapping her in a blanket my son put her in my car. I drove to the vets that morning at a time that wasn’t busy, all arranged on the phone. They gently took her out of my car and with tender love ensured she was cremated. I lost her son at 3 weeks in 2014. He developed a burst trachea and Sarah took him gently to the back because he was becoming distressed and we didn’t want him to feel any needles when he had to go to sleep. So to make it as calm as possible she gave him gas to put him to sleep and they again gently took him to be cremated. My pug Coco was everything and the day I had to hand her over the receptionist, Moia, sat through her lunch hour in one of the rooms with me and listened for over an hour , comforting me and helping me to understand. This year my other bulldog delivered 7 of her 11 pups but the last four wouldn’t budge. She went in for emergency c-section and one had got stuck. We sadly lost him and another but they saved the other two. They treated and nursed mum back and helped us raise those 9 pups who are all healthy and happy. I would recommend them to anyone and the fact they are like a family in which they include us is amazing. They know me, all my dogs and everything we’ve been through. They allowed me to settle my bills once my pups were sold and I can phone them about anything and they will do whatever they can to help. Truly an amazing place and atm they are helping my Arthur, my 8 year old bulldog - where it all began - with laser treatment on his shoulder and he’s already walking a lot better. A small family vets who treat you like family. I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else as long as I am within driving distance. We all make mistakes and we all learn but they go above and beyond anything I have ever experienced in a vets. They fought for my girl when another vet wanted to put her down. She’s still going strong and is a very big character. Thank you thank you Sarah (vet and owner) Zoe, Jeff, John, Moia, Sarah (nurse), Harley, Fizz, Sue and everyone I may have forgotten carry on with the amazing work you do ❤️❤️❤️

Gob Smacked is the only word i can use, i have been using these vets for years , last week my wife took my little yorkie cross who only weighs just over 3kilos, because she had a loose tooth, vet told us 1 tooth had to be removed and that would be appox £200 so we booked her in for today, i turned up to drop my little girl off only to be told it was now £451 and if we ran over on her "mouth time" it could be more. WHAT A RIP OFF, OVER DOUBLE THE PRICE QUOTED. Over the years i have spent thousands of pounds on my dogs without question at this vets but now im thinking how much have they ripped me off. BE AWARE RIP OFF VETS taking advantage of your love for your pet. Had a second opinion at another vets today and all work being done and guaranteed for £200 at the most .

Vet Response

I did try to call you several times on the day that the dental had been planned to tell you that there had been a genuine error with the written estimate that you were given on the morning. I have also left a message for you and tried to call you a number of times since. I am sorry that this error happened - if you wish to discuss it with me further then I would be more than happy to do so. If you wish to speak to me about it then please contact me on 01952506360. Thank you, Sarah.
