I have just took my cat for a booster at the Croft vets in Newcastle under Lyme cost me £50. I have 3 cats and I have just phoned another vets around the corner from me and they charge the normal price of £30 and transferred my cats there they just wanted my money not even a thank you as we were leaving. So please DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF. All in all terrible value, receptionist very rude and phone about for a better vets. Hope this helps people.

I have used the practice for many years and will continue to do so .The practice is very personable caring and attention to detail is paramount to them .my dog is always excited to go which speaks volumes .I would recomend the practice all the staff are always there to help at a often very stressful time .

After a long ongoing dispute regarding the treatment of my Dog The Croft would not communicate with Vet Client mediation service despite numerous phone calls and Emails. Would not recommend them to anybody , not willing to respond to VCMS is unprofessional in my opinion. Would leave no stars if possible

Many Thanks to all the staff, as always we received excellent care and advice from a very caring and friendly team. Every-time we have needed to visit the practice with our dogs over the passed 20 plus year, from a booster, illness and the sad times, nothing is every to much trouble. The receptionist instantly welcome you and make you feel at ease, by there lovely warm, caring friendly manner- and cuddles when needed. We have seen the different vets / nurses over the years, and nothing is ever to much trouble, they will take the time to ensure we understand what is going on and there dedication and devotional when caring for our precious dogs is always clear to see. You all are amazing, once again thank you.

My cat Millie suddenly became very unwell. I phoned the vets - reception were helpful and understand and was I offered an appointment that same morning! Dimitri the vet always treats my cats with such care and attention. He ran blood tests straight away, I got the results back the same morning. Millie had some injections and some tablets and is now doing well. I cant thank everyone enough.

I took Molly my beloved Yorkshire terrier to croft vets to have a lump removed from her stomach which turned out to be benign, about a fortnight later Molly became quite unwell and wouldn't eat so we took her back to the croft where they did blood tests which they told me were all alright. But Molly carried on being ill. We then asked the vet if maybe she might have some kind of infection and we asked them if they thought she might need some antibiotics they replied we can't just give antibiotics when the previous blood tests were alright. So we were left with a very sick dog and no forthcoming treatment as they told us there was nothing wrong with her. Very sadly Molly passed away on the 7th of September 2018 leaving us feeling we should have done more but in reality it was the vets who should have done more we told them how ill she was and they just kept saying the blood test are showing nothing is wrong with her. Something was obviously very wrong as dogs don't just die !! My advice to anyone is avoid this vets at all costs if you love your pet as we dearly loved our sweet little Molly. We feel that vets should have some sort of grading regulations so that the bad vets are no longer able to practice because if that had been the case maybe Molly may have survived because these bad vets would have failed the test miserably.

Avoid these vets at all costs if you value the care your pet deserves. Since the practice has changed hands they care more about money than the wellbeing of your pet. To cut a long story short, they refused to allow us some medication for our dog until we’d paid the full bill. Even though we’d always done direct claims through our insurance since he was a puppy. They wouldn’t even let us have enough meds for one night (as the bank was shut, it meant we wouldn’t be able to transfer money until the next day to be able to pay), which would’ve cost only a few £. He could hardly breath due to lung disease and pneumonia...illnesses that only surfaced after they abruptly stopped his steroids that he’d been on since a pup. We later found out from another vet that to stop steroids immediately is dangerous and he should’ve been reduced slowly. We’d used the Croft for over 20yrs and never missed any payments EVER. We always had his yearly boosters done there and never visited another vets, even out of hours. The new owner downright refused to allow us his meds without prior payment, which we felt was disgusting treatment. She was prepared to let him suffer through the night until we could organise payment as by this time it was 6pm and the bank was closed and we needed to transfer money to pay the bill. I could understand this if we’d just walked in off the street but we’d been regular loyal customers for over 20yrs and always paid every bill on time! She wouldn’t even let us have 2 tablets to last the night! Absolutely abhorrent treatment! Avoid like the plague!! I’ve tried to write a review on their Facebook page but it seems only “good” reviews are allowed on there!! Our advice would be to look elsewhere if your new owners looking for a vets or if your already registered there, then move elsewhere!
