We have used this surgery for years with various dogs. I cannot praise their commitment and professionalism highly enough. Always helpful and ready to go the extra mile. When a treasured pet is unwell or just needs their booster you want to feel that they are going to be cared for. We certainly get that with our vets & nurses

Romeo, my lovely dog, loves to go to see Adriana and Sophie at Medivet Southwark. when he got sick last month, they looked after him, and I can say they saved him. Thanks to them, he is still with us. I have no words to explain my gratitude. Great vets, friendly and caring.

My kitten was completely fine but became extremely unwell following her vaccination at medivet. I was told she might not be herself for about 2 days following the vaccination but she was just not eating and drinking so I called up and was asked to bring her in. Medivet did some tests and gave me oradale saying the tests show the bloods are fine but the kitten is a bit anemic. A day later she was still not eating so I called up again and was told to take her to emergency. On Saturday 02/12/17 my kitten passed away. It was so sudden as just a week before this she was such a playful, naughty and full of energy kitten and we were so happy to have her home. I have been so depressed following this and fear getting another pet as I don't know what to expect. What also annoyed me is that despite explaining evrything to medivet (how to deal with the kittens body etc) on the day, I got a phone call 2 days later asking me the same questions so I was repeating myself! It's like no one tool my concerns properly the first day - where did all the info i gave one the death day go? I feel like it fell on deaf ears :(

Vet Response

Hi Fatima, thank you for your review. We are very sad to hear about the loss of your beautiful kitten and we send our condolences. We are fully aware of the circumstances surrounding your review and the Lead vet at Medivet Southwark has reached out to you privately several times in order to clarify the circumstances and your wishes including the reimbursement of the cost of the treatment provided. In our part everything that was possible was carried out, including providing insurance coverage free of charge, medical treatment and diagnostic tests. Results have shown that it was unlikely that the condition was caused by a vaccine reaction but a possible underlying viral process. The vaccine manufacturer was fully informed about the unfortunate event in any case. If you wish to discuss this further, then please do not hesitate to get in contact with the practice. Kind regards, Medivet Southwark
