I recently moved in the area and I was recommended Kydd & Kydd vet practice. Unfortunately in the last month I needed to visit 3 times and I've never seen the same vet! First time we've been seen by a really good vet so I was really happy. Second time we've seen another vet, he was just ok not really good but ok for a consultation. The third time was last Friday, we needed to visit as my little dog was really unwell after being bitten by another dog. We booked by phone and initially the vet wasn't provided by all the information I gave during the booking. The vet she was not really caring, anyway she visited him but didn't manage to find anything. She started talking about pancreatitis and other diseases, so she recommended full blood test to be done. I was absolutely worried about his health, so I gave my consent. My little dog wasn't given any medication as the worry was to make him feel worse. When we came back home (about 4 pm), he started feeling really bad, not moving and desperately crying every time he moved, no eating and no drinking. At 9.30 pm he still didn't looked any better, so I called the vet emergency number several times...and NO ANSWER!!! What is the point in giving an emergency number if you cannot be bothered to answer?!? We managed to make him feel better...but really disappointed by this service. We are waiting for the blood tests now...

On Friday 11 May I had an appointment at 18:00 for my ill dog. Upon arrival, there were two customers being served by two separate receptionists. I stood behind them to check in. There was no acknowledgement of my waiting (I had my three year old daughter with me) so I resorted to taking a seat and waiting. Once the two customers were finished I announced to the receptionist that I had arrived for my 18:00 booking (approximately 18:15). I then had to wait until approximately 18:30 before my dog was seen to by the vet. During the consultation I was given the unfortunate news that my dog either had a heart problem or cancer of the liver / kidneys causing his symptoms. A blood sample was drawn and results were promised by Monday given the weekend would cause delays. It is now 13:30 on Tuesday 15 May and we are still waiting to hear the outcome from the vet. My wife phoned yesterday and I have phoned today again. Both times we were told the results had arrived and the vet will phone us. Then, after the appointment I proceeded to the reception desk to pay. Fiona Wilson was on duty. I queued behind the only customer, who then moved off. I then stood waiting to be attended to so that I could pay and leave. I was not acknowledged for 10 minutes while the receptionist continued to look at her computer screen. She then got up and walked away. I remained waiting at reception until another receptionist arrived and asked if anyone was waiting to pay, which I welcomed and immediately paid and left.

Sadly, we've recently moved away from the practice area but, if need be, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my cat or dog back for treatment. David Kidd is an amazing vet and the rest of the team are just as impressive. Our cat had to have a non malignant growth removed from his foot and it was done neatly and professionally with the minimum of distress to our boy. Very sadly he developed a blockage in his intestine some years later and had to be put down, but this was all done with the utmost sensitivity and only after long and informed discussion. Our dog actually brightened up as he got to the door of the surgery.....
Vet ResponseThank you for your very kind words. All at Kydd and Kydd

I've been a client with Kydd and Kydd for several years. I trust them implicitly. Their service towards me and my dogs has always been fantastic. It's somewhere I don't always like taking my boys but the care and treatment has always been exceptional. I know if there is something wrong with one of them then especially David will get to the bottom of it. I also like the fact he's an orthopaedic surgeon so I really can get a full service without referrals. Leaving one of them there is never easy but the girls on reception and the nursing staff are delightful, they make it so much easier. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have always been more than happy with Kydd & Kydd. All the vets and staff are delightful and my ragdolls Zilli and Fistik purr and purr when they visit. The 6 monthly free health check is something not many vets offer and prices remain good. Well done to the team
Vet ResponseThank you very much for your kind words. From all at Kydd and Kydd.

David Kydd and all his staff are amazing. They looked after our Staffie, Drummer so well. Drum needed cruciate ligament surgery which at 12 years old is a big op. The care drum received was second to none. David was brilliant answering all our questions and even dealing with our insurance company when they wanted us to see a different vet over 2 hours away which would have been a nightmare as Drum does not travel well. Drummer is doing so well now and its all thanks to Kydd and kydd.
Vet ResponseThank you for your kind words. From David and the team at Kydd and Kydd.

I first visited David Kydd's father at Kydd Veterinary Practice at the Tooting Practice in the 1960's! I have moved a few times since then but have always taken any of my sick or newly obtained pets to usually the practice at Wimbledon, we still travel to this practice even though we now live in Richmpnd. Throughout these years we have had an assortment of pets from birds, through to rabbits, tortoise, numerous cats and a dog - and we have always received the very best care and our animals have received exemplary care at all times. I have visited this practice for the best part of 50 years now and could not recommend it more highly.
