Unfortunately we had our beloved springer put down over Easter, we were shown to a private room to wait . And the vet was so sympathetic and sensitive over our questions and hope for last minute miracle. Her honesty and openness was much appreciated also we were prepared for every step she took and then given privacy to say goodbye.. just want to say thank you so much for sharing our grief .

I have used the st budeaux branch and the hospital for nearly 18 years. Recently I have visited the plymstock and Lipson branch . All staff are very friendly, taking their time and compassion when needed . Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are always willing to help and give advice . Richard is an amazing vet and trust him fully in all that he does for my dog Bruce , also recently we have been seeing adam for acupuncture and again nothing is ever too much trouble, very friendly and always puts Bruce’s needs first . Amazing team, amazing staff, thank you for all that you do .

Having had to use the service of the out of hours team, I cannot speak highly enough of everyone who I encountered. Each member of staff went the extra mile to reassure me and to make my dog feel safe and comfortable in a stressful environment. This is the 10th year as a client and I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism.

I have been a client of the Veterinary Hospital for many, many years so the fact that I keep coming back to them every time we have a new member of the family is a clear indication of how highly I rate them. My Chihuahua/Pomeranian cross recently went lame on her back legs and has now been operated on to alleviate the problem. Pru, who performed the operation, phoned me twice during the day to keep me up to day with how things went and were going and I was encouraged to ring the ward any time if I wanted an update. Pru explained to me exactly what she planned to do before the operation was performed and post op I was shown the x-rays to see what had been done. I was told that Angel was a firm favourite with the nurses and that she had lots of cuddles, which reassured me no end. I simply cannot fault this hospital; everyone from the vets themselves, the nurses and the receptionists, always show an interest in the reason for your visit and make you feel that your pet is as important to them as it is to you.

After a tragic incident I had to have two dogs euthanised. No consultation was needed. There was no doubt that both dogs had to be euthanised. The staff were great. The price of £250 was shockingly expensive. If it had been an out of hours emergency i could understand the charge, but the clinic was open, and it was a short job to euthanise two dogs. The charge for a few minutes work is definitely not in proportion.

My cat tic tac had an ongoing health problem she was 12 years old on Saturday 2nd September she collapsed at home we rushed her out to estover vetinary hospital but sadly she passed away in my arms in the car when we arrived my husband went in first to inform the staff they did offer to come out and get tic tac but I wanted to carry her in myself we could not fault the staff for their compassion professionalism and kindness at what was a very distressing time they made it that little bit easier to leave tic tac as we were made to feel she would be looked after.

In 2016 I made 3 visits with my dog, who had a growth on his elbow. On each visit I was charged fees to be advised (wrongly) there was nothing much they could do and best to leave it. On the last visit the growth was bigger than a tennis ball, and obviously causing mobility problems and distress. He was examined, probably misdiagnosed over an anal matter, offered dental treatment for approx £640, and quoted £1,300 - £1,400 for removal of the growth, but again advising they did not want to do it. I then went to a long established vet in Plymouth who said the lump had to be removed as soon as possible. He operated successfully, and the dog has a good leg again. For this exemplary job he charged me £400 - compared with your £1,300-1,400 quote. More importantly, he solved the problem. My visits to your practice seem to have been a waste of time and money.
