At the beginning of the lockdown our beloved Piggy, the family Guinea pig, took a bad turn. Instantly I knew it was serious and suspected a stroke because of how he was acting. Barnwell roads team were very kind, compassionate and enabled him to rest with no more pain. They then wrapped him gently and brought him back to me. A couple of weeks later I then received a condolences card and some forget me not seeds... the team are the absolute best and truly love the animals they care for. I cannot recommend them more. Thank you for being amazing.

We had both our dogs in for annual check and boosters with Jess. She was kind and welcoming explained everything with us and discussed the possibility of having to get a dental extraction for one of our dogs. Very thorough and friendly both our dogs loved her which is always a help taking them to the vets as they get anxious. Wouldn’t take our pets anywhere else.

Vet Response

Dear Mr Thurston Thank you for sharing your concerns about Levi and the euthanasia costs with us. Regarding the euthanasia costs, we charge £140 for the actual procedure but we do charge more for a home visit as the vet needs to be away from the practice for a significant amount of time. A sedation fee was also estimated in case a sedation was needed but this is not always the case. We cannot comment on the estimate from other veterinary practices as we do not know what they include in their estimates. I hope that this explains the itemised cost of a home visit compared to euthanasia at the practice. Please feel free to contact the surgery if you wish to discuss this further. I am sorry if this has caused you any distress. Kind Regards Benedettta

A big thank you to Drs. Jessica Lau and Hayley Baker for the incredible kindness they showed me when Dougal my much loved cocker spaniel became terminally ill. He has since died but l am grateful for their care of both me and Dougal at a very sad time. I would also like to say how friendly and helpful the reception staff are. Thank you.

Everyone was very friendly and seemed to care huge amounts about every single animal, the receptionists were so lovely and chatty, it made me feel less nervous as to why I was there.

We have always received excellent care and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A few times now we have needed help at odd hours and with short notice and they have done everything to squeeze us in (even just before closing). I am amazed at the level of attention and care considering the really reasonable prices. I definitely recommend this vets!

Honestly, nothing but wonderful things to say for the team here. Everyone we have dealt with - vets, receptionists, nurses - have all been just wonderful. Really recommend this vets, plus they have far better opening hours than anywhere else - which is a blessing for working pet owners!
