Dear Mr Thurston
Thank you for sharing your concerns about Levi and the euthanasia costs with us.
Regarding the euthanasia costs, we charge £140 for the actual procedure but we do charge more for a home visit as the vet needs to be away from the practice for a significant amount of time.
A sedation fee was also estimated in case a sedation was needed but this is not always the case.
We cannot comment on the estimate from other veterinary practices as we do not know what they include in their estimates.
I hope that this explains the itemised cost of a home visit compared to euthanasia at the practice.
Please feel free to contact the surgery if you wish to discuss this further.
I am sorry if this has caused you any distress.
