Just a little note to say thank you so so so much to all at Vets4Pets at Rayleigh over the weekend where we booked one of our Greyhounds (Lenny) in to have recommended teeth out. I was VERY VERY nervous about our boy having his teeth out (even though teeth out is a pretty standard procedure), as we all know, there is always a certain risk with aesthetic etc. We arrived at 9.30 to meet the fabulous receptionist Amy who booked us in and was so so reassuring and said we could call her anytime for updates and she would also keep us updated. The reception was fairly busy, but Amy still found time to handle the busy reception, answer the phones, remaining calm and professional and still book a nervous mum in! and reassure (all at the same time!) thank you so much again Amy. The Vet Nurse that pre-checked Lenny with us before taking him through was also very lovely and reassuring. Amy let us know roughly what time Lenny would be going down and the ETA for him coming out etc. I called at 12.30 just for a little update and Amy put us on hold and checked letting us know he had just had his pre-med and was very comfortable and happy. I called at again 2.30 and Amy put us on hold again whilst she popped out to see how Lenny was and let us know that he was in recovery and perfectly content and all went well. In fact he was so comfortable that he had just laid down again for another greyhound style snooze! And that we should be able to pick him up around tea time once he had snoozed off the anaesthetic a little more. We picked him up in the evening and he was very well and quite happy to just lay on his bed and continue to sleep off the meds and recover right through until the morning. The next morning he was as ripe as rain and as cheeky as ever… never known he’d just had quite a few teeth out! Greyhounds can be very renowned for this… He also had a descale and he’s teeth look brand new with breath almost as fresh as daisy’s again!!! Thank you so much again for taking such good care of him and for Amy being so helpful and at tentative and caring when she also had a very very busy reception to contend with at the same time as us – speaking with her really reassured us – just cannot thank you enough – naturally highly highly recommend and trust Rayleigh Vets4Pets – thank you thank you thank you again. Kindest regards Lenny, Rosie, Lee any Yvette

My two Bengal kittens were spayed and neutered today, the staff couldn’t have been kinder, or more reassuring. They called to inform me of their progress and when I could collect them, ensuring I had all they information I needed and was booked in for follow up appointments. Can not thank them enough for looking after them so well.

The practise refused to put down injured pigeon, brought in by a passer by, without a payment!! Shame on you!

Vet Response

Regarding the situation with the pigeon at our surgery the weekend just gone, we now understand that it was an unfortunate error that we take complete responsibility for. From what I understand, the situation arose due to the receptionist and the vet both being fairly new members of staff, and as there were no managers on site at the time, they were unsure of the correct protocol. They did however advise the gentleman to take the pigeon to the local wildlife rescue centre, which is approximately a 10 minute drive away. Unfortunately, he refused and broke its neck at the desk, then walked out of the surgery with the bird. Once again, we apologise for the situation and we can confirm that all members of staff are now up to date with this protocol.

I cannot recommend this veterinary practise enough, I have over the last 2 days been liaising with the team about my rabbit Tallulah. Sadly I did loose my little girl, however she was given the utmost care, love and compassion by everybody who looked after her. Additionally the team were very kind to me and could not help me enough. I will move my other rabbits to this vets - they never turn away an emergency, nothing is ever too much trouble ...... thankyou all for your utmost dedication to your work, you are simply amazing xx
