Have sent a report to head office. I asked for a drink for my dog as pink bowl on floor was empty. Already told vets at home that outside bowls were empty. when lady in pink tracksuit brought drink back she was accompanied by someone in navy uniform who quite aggressively told me that bowls outside were the shops responsibility, not the vets. I said Yes, and I have mentioned it and they are sorting it out so came back here to get drink for dog. She then proceeded to inform me that vets4pets are not obliged supply water, but if asked would get a drink for dog. I said I had asked, then she said that portable water bottles were available to buy. I said I had those but as I was coming to the pet shop early (9.30 a.m.) didn't bother to bring everything with me. I said I did not expect lecture after asking for a drink for my dog, and would ask in any shop if I though it necessary. A few raised eyebrows by customers there.
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Vets4Pets Old Kent Road. Whilst I appreciate that you were disappointed with the lack of shared water facilities available within the Pets at Home store, unfortunately this is an issue outside of our control as the practice is separate to the store.
As a practice, however, we aim to reduce the spread of illness and for this reason, we try not to have multiple dogs using the same water bowl in our reception area. Our receptionists are more than happy to provide a clean, fresh bowl of water for your pet when you arrive if you would like. I apologise if this was unclear when you first came in and we will look at creating a sign for reception explaining this.
With regards to your interactions with our team, I am sorry that you perceived the way staff tried to explain our concerns regarding shared water bowls and the alternative we provide as a lecture, this was not our intention, rather, we strive to provide a friendly and personal service for both our clients and their pets.
