We are a veterinary tech company building a platform to improve the pet owner experience through providing advice directly to consumers allowing them to make more informed decisions. Our mission is to digitally transform the first point of veterinary care experience. We are building on our existing, well-established platform to create a tool for better care and engagement between owners and the veterinary profession, to enable faster treatment and ultimately improved animal welfare. We currently have over 1/3rd of UK vet practices subscribed and over 1M unique visitors per year. Having recently secured additional funding we are about to embark upon a significant growth journey and are now building an ambitious team to make our vision of the future become a reality.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to build a booking and triage platform. Working with the developers, you would have overall responsibility for the development, testing and deployment of our new digital platform.
We are looking for someone to work closely with the Founder / CEO to steer the development of the platform from a technical and UX perspective. The team is currently very small with a distributed workforce and this role will suit an entrepreneurial Project Manager who is looking to take a step up and own their own product from the ground up.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building the platform to industry best practice standards and ensuring that development is agile allowing iterative deployments over time
  • Working with either an in-house or agency development team to ensure that deployments are delivered on time and within budget / scope
  • Working with CEO to capture forward looking performance metrics of the platform such as direct bookings and sign ups as well as industry standard user experience metrics
  • Use data from multiple sources to generate the insight needed to spot development opportunities, inform prioritisation and drive product change initiatives
  • Work with the CEO and development team to create a new user experience that will facilitate sign ups as well as desired actions on the site
  • Managing risks, issues and budgets while meeting tight deadlines
  • Creation of product visions and roadmaps
  • Creation of backlogs and prioritising
  • Liaising with a wide range of senior stakeholders, suppliers, third parties and teams across the company
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise the team’s efficiency and effectiveness

The ideal candidate will be / have:

    • No requirement of the veterinary industry is required but some knowledge would be an advantage as would experience in owning a pet and interacting with vets.
    • Experience working in start-up environments where everyone takes a player / manager role
    • Experience product managing the development of consumer-facing sites that have a range of functions
    • Experience working with video chat, listings, reviews, online booking and expert systems
    • Excellent communications skills across all stakeholders with the ability to translate business requirements into the product roadmap
    • Ability to foster a team-first work ethic where all people are supported to perform to their best
    • A solid understanding of the data that will be required as an output from the platform and an understanding of how this data will be structured and managed to facilitate the running of the business.
    • Experience working in a small team where team members take on a range of tasks to be helpful the company goals
    • A demonstrated and focused desire to build products that customers will love
    • Self-motivated person and an enthusiasm for what we are trying to achieve.
    • Good sense of humour would be helpful too

Engaging with customers and prospective clients, successfully position the benefits of VetHelpDirect for veterinary appointment video technology.
Leading the commercial discussion through to agreed contracts, before handing the signed customer across to operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Create sales plan for the territory.
  • Engage with existing VetHelpDirect customers to upsell to new video platform solution.
  • Engage with our large number of leads to upsell to new video platform solution.
  • Create a prospect list for new clients on territory.
  • Work with digital marketing team for client targeting.
  • Approach new prospects and book online demonstrations and/or sales meetings.
  • Prepare and compile relevant sales meeting collateral.
  • Plan field based sales appointments for maximum efficiency.
  • Provide feedback from prospective clients into marketing and R/D teams.
  • Maintain accurate data in CRM system.
  • Support at industry events and exhibitions where required.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the success ratio at each stage of the sales funnel.
