I cannot say enough how amazing the team are at Abbeywell. My extremely nervous labradoodle has taken a lot of work by the team to gain her confidence. All the staff from reception to vets are so friendly and professional. I never thought we would get very far with my girl but she had her kennel cough today with very little stress after lots of guidance from Gemma and Mike. Thank you so much. I will be recommending you.

I would like to comment on the fact that your receptionist called me “Lovey” while taking my card payment for a booster vaccination for my dog. I found that entirely unprofessional and did mention it at the time of payment on Wednesday 10 October 2018. I said that I would prefer to be addressed as Mrs Tyrrell. I feel that calling clients “lovey” etc is demeaning and disrespectful. I have no further comments to make as I shall not be visiting your practice with my dog again, but perhaps you could ask your staff to treat the clients with more respect. Thank you. Heather Tyrrell.

We welcome all feedback both good and bad as this allows us to review the service we provide. I am very sorry to hear that you feel our team did not meet your level of expectation during your visit, for this I can only apologise. However, as your feedback directly relates to our reception team, I trust that our clinical staff greeted you in a manner that was acceptable and provided you and your pet with a service that was both professional and respectful. We are a local, independent, neighbourhood veterinary practice. We live in the community we serve and we provide a friendly, welcoming service that reflects that. The vast majority of the people we see do greatly appreciate the warmth and friendliness of our reception team. People even pop into our surgery for a chat because they may be feeling lonely, they want to talk about their pet or they simply want to talk about the weather and we think that's wonderful. However, we do fully appreciate that some people prefer to keep things very formal and do like to be addressed formally. Therefore, when we are made aware of this we record the preferred salutation onto the client account so that people are always welcomed in their preferred manner. I am pleased to confirm that we have done this for you so that during future visits to our clinic the team will address you as Mrs Tyrrell. Everyone from the moment you step into the surgery is just AMAZING and genuinely care. It was our 1st tie at a vet ever we were made feel at ease, were given great advice from everyone around and we left so at ease with having made the choice of getting our pet, we also are now more informed as to how to care for it. AMAZING TEAM!

The whole team at Abbeywell are approachable, friendly and very helpful. I registered both of my dogs at Abbeywell last year and have received great service everytime I have needed them. When one of my dogs became very unwell recently with an eye problem (which sadly lead to a loss of sight) everyone was so patient and professional (especially with me!) it really helped at a stressful time. I would like to thank Mike, Carol and Jenny especially for their kindness shown. I would recommend Abbeywell to anyone.

The staff at Abbeywell are always friendly, welcoming, helpful and HAPPY! Their care for Brewster is always outstanding, and the follow up after his two operations was exceptional and educational, as I had to give simple physio exercises at home. I have recommended these guys to many friends, and I know some of them have joined up. Couldn't praise this practice enough. Keep up the outstanding work, and thanks again.

I have used many differnet vets over the years, but now that my precious dogs are cared for by Mike and the guys at Abbeywell, I will not be going anywhere else - even if I have to move away from Folkestone! My dog has had a long running condition that other vets have attempted to treat and control, but I never really understood how epilepsy affected her or if it could be controlled. When I first went to Mike, I was desperate, as the fitting was becoming worse by the week, he sat me down and explained exactly what was happening to my little princess and what we needed to do to get it under control. Mike was there every step of the way, guiding and advising me until we achieved the right balance of medication and now I have my dog back - I cannot say how much Mike and Abbeywell mean to me, they are simply the best!
