Three weeks ago it became clear that I had to make that final painful decision. My 16-year-old Burmese cat did not seem to be in pain, he was still eating and affectionate. But an ultrasound showed many untreatable problems and his breathing was becoming increasingly difficult It was time. We arranged for Rob to come to my house and William was given the injection at home in bed. There is no easy way to do this but Rob did everything possible to make that last afternoon as bearable as possible both for William and for me. I needed to speak to him the following day as I realised I had not taken in all he told me about William's condition. He made time in his busy day to answer my questions and I cannot thank him enough. Today I ran into Rob in the supermarket. As always, he was kind and asked me how I was. It was good to see him again in such normal circumstances. It is too soon for me to think of having another companion but if I ever do I will certainly rely on the professionalism and kindness of Rob and his team. Thank you everyone at Bourne Vets and hoping to need you again one day Amber Sinclair
