Cannot recommend this veterinary practice more. They provided wonderful care to my cat, Dexter when he was poorly. His condition was picked up immediately on examination and his ongoing care has been just wonderful. The vets, nurses and reception staff are always a pleasure to deal with, nothing is too much for them. Thank you for looking after our furbaby!

My dog was suffering from bloat which requires him to get to a vets ASAP I called Vets4Pets who he is with and they couldn’t do anything for him and said they where closing lunch time because everyone was on the sick. This meant I had to drive over 30 minutes away to a vets in Cardiff my dog ended up dying and I can’t help but think he might have survived if I was able to get him to his actual vets 2 minutes up the road.

Vet Response

We're so sorry to hear about your dog and can fully appreciate what an incredibly distressing time this is for you. At the time you called, we were, unfortunately, in a very difficult situation where our locum vet was sick and unable to continue working and we didn't have another vet immediately available to examine your dog. On speaking to yourself, our vet nurse instantly recognised the urgency of the situation which is why the recommendation was made to attend the emergency service. This would have, most likely, been required regardless, as in a case such as gastric torsion/gastric dilation volvulus, hospitalisation and intensive nursing is required, which is something we are unable to provide. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further, please do get in touch with us at your earliest convenience and we will ensure you can speak to the appropriate person who will be happy to answer any questions you have.

We would like to thank Sylvia,Nicole, and the rest of the team at vets4pets BARRY, they have treated our family dog Oscar for many years and have treated him with upmost respect they have been kind caring and very professional. Sadly due to age and ongoing illness Oscar became very unwell at the beginning of March this year and we had to make the decisions to have Oscar put to sleep for the last time, this was a heartbreaking decision for us as a family to make . Prior to us making this decision both Sylvia and Nicole went above and beyond the call of duty we had priority access to the veterinary surgery and after hour phone calls regarding Oscars condition. Sylvia and Nicole came to our home the day we had to have Oscar euthanised they were so gentle with him and you could see he was very relaxed with them both as he was used to seeing them (Sylvia was the only vet that saw Oscar from his very first visit, she knew him very well and him her) he was treated with compassion and was very calm peaceful relaxed and without pain as he slipped away and we as a family were not rushed and were all able to say goodnight for the last time they then stayed with us for a while to console us and as a family would like to thank them and their team from the bottom of our hearts for the way they treated Oscar throughout his many years with them. We would highly recommend Vets4pets Barry for all pets Thank you Pat Beard

Omg what a breath of fresh air... I have found private vet practices absolutely fine when they start off, then it always goes pair shaped, no care, only interested in how much money they can make out of the sick animals, then along came Vets 4 Pets.Amazing, nothing is to much trouble. No hidden charges just pure care. Thank you, it has taken alot of searching, but got there in the end.

I have had many dogs over 40 years and seen many vets. Sylvia and her staff are by far the most caring, knowledgeable and efficient I have ever known. Would never go anywhere else.

Wonderful service from reception nurses and of course Sylvia who is kind to my elderly cat and also appreciates how much my cat means to me. As do all the staff. Travel from cardiff to Barry to see Sylvia.
