Vet was clearly well trained and compassionate but I'm seething over their business practices. Dental burr (rabbit +nail trim) 10 minute appointment with no drugs or consumables. Vets 4 Pets Mapperley - quoted £32, tried to charge £85 Just been through the last 3 years bills with other practices before i moved here for the same service: Vets 4 Pets Gateshead £28 Vets 4 Pets Newcastle (+Metacam) £41 Companion Care Newcastle £28 Out of Hours (10pm) Vets 999 (Burr and Metacam) £64 Spalding Vets £15 I was in and out in 10 minutes. I booked my rabbits in for a dental burr and nail trim. I was told the appointment was £32. I was charged for a 10 minute consultation... £32 which is fine. But then they charged another £31 for the burr (non consumable no drugs needed). For the nail clipping another £10 per rabbit (declined of course) They charge less for neutering... and that's an operation. Some advice.. don't give one price over the phone and then double it when the patient arrives.. it can't walk away when the rabbit will stop eating with an overgrown tooth and the tool to fix it is sat right there... that's just cruel and unethical. Other practices in the vets4pets network (as above) don't have this awful behaviour so it's not a brand issue but a franchisee issue. Shame on you.

My pet was taken in with a swelling on his Jaw ,he was treated with a pain killer initially and advised to have metacam and paracetamol. He was seen again at VETS 4 PETS and they decided to do X-rays and biopsies as a day patient, all proved to be non productive.. He was sent home and advised to come back in week.I asked should he not have Antibiotics as a precaution but this was refused!! I researched the symptoms which indicated an abscess and the treatment anti-inflammatory and antibiotics.. The symptoms he had quite clearly pointed to that.. But after 4 visits and 3 vets later i still had no diagnosis.. just more Tests.. and eventually Euthanasia.. I am in dispute with them.. I WOULD NOT EVER USE VETS 4 PETS AGAIN.. THIS WAS AT THE WOODBOROUGH RD BRANCH ....

I have been visiting this practise for some time now, and have contemplated moving somewhere else For a while. They are all about the money and not caring for the pets. I visited today 20 minutes before the practise closed, admittedly I did not have an appt, but I live close and could see my dog was distressed as he had snapped his claw and couldn’t walk. He was shaking quite badly when I entered the vets and was clearly not happy. I asked the receptionist if someone could just take a quick look and cut his claw, I was happy to wait obviously as I hadn’t booked. After waiting for several minutes I was advised that the vet would see us but as an out of office patient and the consultation would be £95 plus the cutting of the claw. This is not caring for pets, this is pure and simply money grabbing. The process would have taken a couple of minutes to relief the dog of the pain he was in. I called at another practise where I am not registered on my way home and they did it for nothing! Really disappointing, I will never visit Vets 4 Pets again due to this incident, all I wanted was some help!

This was my first visit to this practice. The staff were really nice and made me feel very welcome. They took a real interest in my very young puppy and gave him a very thorough examination before he had his injections.

I have been with this vets since it opened (give or take a couple of years) I have always found them kind to my dogs and me. About 8 years ago One of my dogs had 2 broken legs and they sorted them out. Recently one of my dogs has been diagnosed with cancer and again they were terrific. He has had an operation and still has a long way to go. The receptionist remembers me and the vets know my oldest dog by name even though they are not seeing him 5 * to them all including the caring nurses.

We have always had good service from Vets for Pets Mapperley, but the care Buster got from them at the end and the support we got when we had to make the most difficult decision of all for him was wonderful. And then we had a handwritten condolence card; a very touching gesture. Thank you

I found the vet rude, confrontational and abrasive. It made me uncomfortable. I will not be going back but will try another vets 4 pets elsewhere. I have always found vets to be really friendly and personable. It surprised me and made the whole thing unpleasant.

My very nervous cat always gets 5 star treatment with the veterinarians, they are very accomadating ...with the complete care package there are no huge bill shocks. Fiona cooks is absolutely amazing in person and her job. Highly recommend booking in with her!
