Neuter area

My cat was neutered today (9mo) and this is what the incision looks like. Wasn't like this when we got back. Is it an open stitch? Should I be worried? There is nothing wrong with him, he is completely fine and acting normal. 

Hello!   It's fairly uncommon for vets to stitch a cats' scrotum (I can remember being surprised by this as a young work-experience student, years ago).  This is because sutures cause a nasty reaction in that sensitive skin, more often than not, and heal pretty fast on their own.  It looks to me as though the end of the cord has remained poking out, where they usually retract.  Sometimes, giving the scrotal skin a quick gentle wiggle on either side of the wound will encourage it to slip back inside.  However, it has been sticking out for a while and may be prone to getting infected, so I would advise giving the vet a quick call to ask if they want to see you early for the post-op check.
