Hello! I'm not sure either without examining the foot, which you should ask your vet to do.
It may be a corn. Corns are most common in breeds such as greyhounds, as they're often related to recurring pressure in one area as the dog walks or runs. Sometimes and altered angle of weight bearing or papilloma virus are involved. Treatment can involve changing the loading on the foot and the surfaces involved. There are sometimes surgical options.
A possible differential diagnosis may be a foreign body (such as glass or a splinter) or trauma.
Sometimes, foot injuries resolve spontaneously but it depends on the causation in the particular case, so we would advise getting your pet checked.
