Hi, my American Staffy has a strange skin problem. he seems to be losing skin and other strange substances from his coat and paws. I have attached some photos. 598EEB86-FC76-463D-9163-6F6F151BB673E8BB3AD7-AE6D-4937-852D-5FF5FD8DA80E55DC2850-FC5B-4508-8780-F116226FACC8

Hello!  Those are truly brilliant pictures, although I am having a little trouble orientating them geographically on the dog!   It looks as though you may have some comodones, dandruff and perhaps excessive skin secretion, which are symptoms of greasy skin and not diagnoses.  There are various possible causes linked to such changes, including the surroundings, demodex mites, hormonal conditions etc.  Some cases are breed linked - schnauzers in particular are reknown for having skin that is prone to comedones.  Your vet will assess your dogs' skin for you and may recommend further tests or trial treatments if necessary, perhaps in the form of specific shampoos formulated for the purpose.   We would be interested to find out how you get on.
