Hello! I have some questions about this skin. 1) When did the vet see the skin compared with the taking of the photos? ²) is Topazk suffering any other conditions or symptoms? 3) are these lesion itchy / being licked? 4) do they have a known cause that I don't know about, or did they appear in combination with another disease? 5) what did they look like a week ago?
In any case, I would always argue against putting moisturiser on broken skin unless your vet has actively told you to do so, as it can prove more irritant than helpful and can introduce infection or an irritant compounds into the wounds where the skin is broken. It can also cause a greasy layer that over the skin that changes its chemical consistency.
Unless this skin has been looking progressively better since the consultation, I would suggest that a repeat consultation would be useful.
If you only saw your vet today, it may help to call back and determine the vet's expectations ie will it get better on its own? Over how long? When do they want to see Topaz if it hasn't cleared up? What do they think is causing it? Have any possible parasites been treated? What should you do if it looks worse etc.
If you are still not satisfied, you could ask them to refer you eg to a dermatologist for a second opinion - However, I'm afraid that we do not give second opinions on this site.
