Pain after Spay

9 month old GSD. She saw spayed on the 21st. We are at the end of her pain meds and she is still acting like she is hurting. Is there anything I can give her until her Vet opens on Tuesday? 

Hello!  I don't know what meds your pet has already had so it would be inappropriate for me to instruct you to give something more, even if this were my patient.  However, in the UK most vets provide 24 / 7 cover-  meaning that if your vet is not available, advice from another, or emergency vet, will be.  Most vets have the details of how to get out of hours help on their answerphone. . It looks to me as though the skin around this wound may have swollen here and the suture remained tight, which may have resulted in the suture material 'cheese-wiring' a cross shape into the skin.  Pain and infection are possible concerns, so post op treatment is necessary.  Please do call your vet or emergency line for more information.

Usually the vet will triage the case from there in order to work out how urgent they feel it to be.  They will then suggest treatment as necessary
