Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this before. Our 13 year old shih Tzu, Casper, keeps having white deposits in his urine. Our primary care vets have done urinalysis but there are no issues. They're a bit stumped by it as he has no other symptoms or health problems. They have told me to go to a specialist vet which they are willing to refer us for. I've included some photos of his urine. Just curious if anyone else has experienced similar. Hello!   Looking at this picture, I'm afraid that it's difficult to get a good look at those white flecks - indeed, it is hard to tell on the photo whether they might not simply be impurities in the concrete path.  However, context tells me that if they were, you are unlikely to be so worried.  I wonder if a urine sample could be collected and sent away to the laboratory to have the white things analysed?  Obviously this only works if you manage to catch a sample with said white impurities in it.  Another thought that crossed my mind was whether Casper is entire;  perhaps this might reflect some kind of discharge from his testes that has been washed down into the urine?  What sort of texture are they?  I wonder if your vet has a 'tame' pathologist that they can chat to over the phone?  Pathologists will often identify odd obscure features that I might not immediately be able to, and tell me how to best present a sample to get helpful results.   Best of luck - and please do let us know if you solve it.
