My Dobermans testicles are wonky!

Hi, my Dobermans testicles are not hanging side by side, one is in front of the other.  If he lies on his back they go side by side but not when he stands. See pics.. I'm worried it could be a health concern. Any thoughts?

Hello!  This is a good question.  When you see your dog the right way up, you will see that the space between their legs is quite small - and in this case your doberman's testicles are quite large.  It is entirely likely that one falls in front of the other - this is actually the case for more dogs than not.  Another thing people ask is that if you are to feel them, sometimes it feels as though there is a main testicle and then another lump stuck to it - this is the head of the epididymis, where the sperm tube runs into the ball.   This also concerns people sometimes.

However, I can't tell you that your dog hasn't got cancer just from a photo - just explain what normal should feel like.  If the testicles feel otherwise different from one another, always better to see your vet quickly than not.
