My 4 year old American Bully - hugs onto my legs and does NOT stop humping me. Outside during a walk, and inside at my home. Hes been doing this ever since a year old. I thought maybe it was my other girl when she was in heat but she recently passed away. But, I do see it seasonal (when she was in heat) - it's embarrassing and my legs are scratched up.   does he remember HER being in heat and always takes over me?   Would neutering help with this?

Hello!  Yes - many owners report that it does help, and anecdotally one might suppose that if the humping goes away when it isn't Spring, then the behviour is being hormonally driven rather than habitual, so I quite fancy the chances.  However, the truth is that it is impossible to know for sure.  Castration can also be very advantageous from the point of view of preventing prostate disease - if you type the words 'prostate' and 'dogs' into the search bar above our blog, this should bring up at least one helpful article.
