Hello - and first of all, how was the temperature taken? To take the temperature properly, a lubricated thremometer should be placed into the rectum - not the middle, because you dont want to take the temperature of the poo - but against the rectal wall. Thermometers have been known to cause serious damage to the rectal wall, so unless you have been trained, your vet or nurse should be doing this. The good news is that if you give them a call, most vets will be more than happy to talk with you about your dogs' post op temperature and usually they will be happy to check it again. They can then evaluate it in context. (I'm afraid that I cant give out real time instructions if the animal is already under another vets care).
