Hello!
Yesterday I noticed this little pink bump on my 5 months old shihtzu's top eyelid. It got a little bigger today. It doesn’t seem to bother her.
We haven't contacted the vet yet, since we are currently abroad, but I'm getting concerned and we won't be back that soon.
What do you think it is, could you reccomend something for now? Are some warm compress eg. from chamomile tea recommended, like for chalazion for humans?
I understand it’s hard to tell just from the photos, but I would be very grateful for your opinion and help.
Hello- my opinion is I'm afraid, as predictable as you feared - that one can't tell from here and that even when presented to a vet, tests may be needed before you have an answer. Possibilities may include folliculitis (inflammation of the follicle), demodex mites, cancer, a cyst, a foreign body (unusual place for one), chalazion, abscess.... with eyes, we would always reccommend getting them checked as soon as you can. Waiting lists can be long at the moment so it might be worth booking an appointment in advance and asking them to triage in case they feel that your dog ought to be seen earlier.
