Black spot on prepuce

I noticed this black spot on my dog two days ago. It hasn’t changed in size or color and it doesn’t seem to affect him in any way. Anyone know why it could be? Should I take him to the vet?

Hello - yes, black spots on the prepuice are definitely noteworthy because they can turn out to be infection / yeast infection / cell death or cancer amongst other things, which your vet would want to know about. Cancer, when it occurs, is sometimes completely painless. Paticularly if they are worrying at it or struggling to urinate, this may need to be seen quickly as this is in a very sensitive part of the body.
