Hi VETS🙂 My 8 year old chihuahua fox terrier mix had extracapsulat lateral suture surgery after tearing her CCL in her LEFT leg. 4 weeks post surgery, she tore her other CCL…her RIGHT one. At 4 weeks, after her 2nd surgery, she was bearing weight in the first hind leg (the left) no problems at all while she started recovering from her new (right) CCL surgery. It’s been 10 weeks since the second surgery, and she toe touches and can go in our walks, but will not bear weight on the second surgery hind leg. A couple times she has been in a standing position and went to sit down…and when she is in the “squatting session phase “ …she lets out a whine and plops down completely not putting weight on the second surgery knee. Should I be worried? The first one she was bearing weight and compensating easily 4 weeks after when her second CCL surgery was done. It has me worried and everyone says different recovery times, but at 2 1/2 months later she still won’t bear weight only toe touch but cannot go from a standing position to a sitting position putting weight on the second surgery leg. I have reached out to the vet and he is gone on vacation for a month due to the holidays. I am hoping a vet here can give me some advice. Thank you in advance. Picture for reference 🐕
