I have been to my vet and he is a bit flumoxed. He has posted on various forums himself. We are doing swab and urine test, but having to work round Christmas breaks with the lab etc 8 yr mixed breed. Rescue dog neutered at approx 6months Has a ‘morning glory’ every 10 days or so, and has done so for as long as I can remember. It appears uncomfortable for him. I have always said that I think his erect willy is too big for his sheath. I have mentioned this to previous vet and  the only response was “there is nothing more to take away” “don’t soothe him as it might make him even more anxious’ “put an ice pack on it” The past few times he has actually  bled. Anyone any ideas ? Horrible pics to follow first one a week ago, last two earlier todayIMG_0502 IMG_0510IMG_0509

Hello - that's a concerning development and as your vet sounds to be unaware of it at this stage, we would recommend letting them know.  This might be done through the emergency team.   Sometimes blood coming out of the penis like this can contain a fair amount of urine; sometimes it can be related to a clotting concern.  Given that there was an unusual lump there in the first place, I would be worrying about things like abscesses and infection, eg bite wounds penetrating the area, also cancer, blockages, anatomical abnormalities to the blood flow / errectile tissue and so on.  Please will you let us know what is found?
