I just adopted this mini Daschund last week, and this week there’s already so many problems ! Firstly he is still topical cream for tail & ears infection. Now he developed interdigital cysts on all 4 paws, some with pus. I stopped bringing him down for walks and applied Himalya canine antiseptic cream.
Today I found out that he has developed a bump on his upper lip !!!! I do not know what to do, please advice me if I could apply the antiseptic cream on his lips since he might lick away)
Hello - I can only speculate about the circumstances of this adoption, but it is a familiar story that people 'acquire' a puppy only to find that it already is in poor health. Interdigital cysts may be a sign of ongoing skin disease for example. I can see little of your dog, but wonder whether the carpus (wrist) is rotated outwards also, possibly predisposing to arthritis? - it is something to get checked out at your puppy-checks. I do not know what is going on with the lip, but it could be where a large tooth is rubbing against a lip in a small mouth; it could also be an insect bite or a skin reaction, possibly allergy or possibly to a demodex mite; it could be a cyst, an inflammatory sweilling or (less likely at this age), a tumour. Whatever it is, I agree with you that antiseptic cream may not be the answer; your vet really does need to assess this dog in context, to identify any other concerns and make a plan moving forward for his care.
