Hello - there are two issues here, the fleas and the itching. Although one may originally have caused the other, the treatments are different. Fleas can be stopped using an appropriate flea treatment - which needs to address the whole lifecycle in order to prevent for eg. more eggs (living in the carpets / vegetation) from hatching later and giving rise to a new infection. The itching, however, may be bad enough to need treating independently. We cannot assess your pets' trauma online, but your vet should be able to make reccommendations having triaged the case in order to understand the extent of the damage. Simple over the counter creams will work for some but medicated ointments or baths will be needed for others. I have seen flea damage necessitating surgery in extremis. Your phramacyst or vet or vet nurse should be able to help.
