Hello, we have an almost 9-year-old male Yorkshire Terrier with Stage B2 MMVD. We know that it shouldn't do heavy exercises and it should walk short distances but we don't know how long or how far it should go every day. Could you please advise? How long or how far should it go every day or every 2 days?

Hello - and I'm sorry to say that this is an impossible question out of context, as the ideal distance to go each day depends on all kinds of things from the breed and size of dog to their immediate health status (how clear their lungs are, for example).  Your vet may be able to suggest a local walk to start with and the key might be to assess how well they cope on this walk, when deciding the limits for the next one.  Please work together with your vet to decide a plan specific to your dogs' particular case.

For dogs with MMVD, short, low-impact walks are typically recommended. Every dog is different, so it's always best to consult your vet for specific guidelines.
