Hi,
My cat has been having some eye problems. I brought him to a vet last year and he had a punctured cornea. After using some eye drops he was fine for a while. After that he would still squint his eyes from time to time(for a day every two months) and we continue to use eye drops when necessary. Recently he had the same probelm; squinting and closing his eyes, watery and redness in his eye. But this time it has not gone away after a week. Any advice would be appriciated.
Hello - and I'm sorry to hear about your cats' painful eye. Please let me be clear; painful, red or runny eyes tend to be emergencies unless proven otherwise and in this cause, the shape visible on the cornea makes me worry about substantial corneal ulceration. Please contact an emergency vet to look at this, because if that were to turn out to be true, the patient would be in a lot of pain and their sight at risk.
