I've been feeding this stray cat for a few months, but suddenly he disappeared for a week. When he returned, he was very skinny, limping, and his injured leg was also very dirty. I've also noticed that he has a very hard time chewing now. Should I take the little guy to a vet? See video below: https://streamable.com/rhp8os   Any answer would be appreciated.

Hello - and thankyou for this question, although I haven't been able to follow the link to the video at this time.  However, I believe that I already know the answer to your question.   I hear that this cat is a stray; they might, however, be microchipped to an owner who still cares about them, so it is worth delivering strays to the vets or asking a rescue to collect them (I'm not sure where you live, but these are the main options in the UK).   Secondarily, the vast majority of cats that present with a limp are in pain. Furthermore, it sounds as though the cat is unable to eat, so their health is likely to deteriorate in the current situation.  These together make a good argument for intervention.  Vets will usually want to know who the cat belongs to; if a stray, they usually have procedures for that, such as asking a rescue to.continue as the owner.  If however there is no chip and you want to take the cat on, they will usually expect you to pay appropriately for veterinary care from that point. Wishing all the best for this little chap; I'm glad thst someone is looking out for him.
