When I called to book my wee pet in to be put to sleep the receptionist didn't seem too bothered. She was nice enough, but I told her why he needed to be put to rest, it was pretty obvious I was upset, and there was no empathy, she just said "ok that's booked in for you, see you at 5". I thought it was a bit heartless if I'm honest. I feel as though the vet was lovely and very empathetic, however, one thing that I would like to put forward as a recommendation (not a complaint) is that both my partner and I felt that when she euthanized our boy she should have left the room for a few minutes and gave us time with him to say goodbye. We were bringing him home, however, you only get a certain amount of time to cuddle them before you have to put them away, so that time was precious.
Dear Maz, I am so sorry that you had to let your precious boy go, as a pet owner I know how hard the decision can be and how heart breaking it is. I am sorry that we failed to meet your, and our own standards, at this most distressing at time. All the issues you have raised will be thoroughly discussed with all members of staff at our next monthly review and we will update our practice policy in regards to your recommendations.
Thank you for leaving your review especially at such a difficult time; we can only improve through the constructive criticism of our clients. Please, if you wish to discuss this with me further, do not hesitate to get in contact by calling or emailing the practice directly and asking to speak with myself, MT.
You have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole team.
