Hello! There are two broad reasons for limping; one is because a dog is in pain. If you think of yourself with a stone in your shoe, you walk oddly to avoid the pain and that is what most limps are. Infrequently, limps can occur without pain eg if a nerve is damaged, but most lamenesses are caused by pain and worn so well by the patient that owners tend to assume that they don't hurt.
