Advice needed please

My 4 month old pup got clipped by a car 9 days ago. I took him to the vets who checked him over said they think it is soft tissue damage and gave 7 days of antibiotics and meloxicam. I crate rested him for 5 days with just toilet and food breaks. He's back to his mischievous ways and walking on it around the house and jumping up at me when I'm preparing his food. However, I took him for a 15 minute walk last night. He went to sleep when we got back. An hour later he woke up and was limping on it and holding it up again. The wounds hhaven't healed. Any advice?

Hello. If the pain releif (Meloxicam) has finished now, it might be that swelling / pain that was previousy being treated (masked) is now being felt.  There is a small chance that the case could also be true of infection.  If the wounds have healed, I wonder if there might be more going on underneath, for example a fracture to one of the small bones, a foreign body eg a splinter, or damage to the underlying muscle / tendon and ligament.   I wonder whether your vet intended a revisit at this point, but even if not, we would strongly reccommend one given that progress has regressed.  At best it may be that more pain releif and rest is in order but depending on specifics, further investigation may be reccommended.
