My beautiful budgie Luna caught her foot in a toy a couple of weeks ago & we thought she had just strained it. But then we realised she might have broken her toe at the back.  Today shes been preening a lot especially around the foot, and shes holding her foot up as if its irritating.  Shes eating and drinking like normal & vocal like always, but I have been onto PDSA who said they dont deal with budgies, & private vets are just too much for me to be able to afford. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help . I CANNOT lose her 20260126_15431120260209_135558

I'm not clear from your comment which toe is affected here, but I'm assuming its the caudal toe that crips the perch facing forward. If so, that does indeed look like a rather abnormal angle for Luna to be holding it in. However, the fact that she's bothered by it worries me more - that may suggest that she is in some degree of pain, which no-one wants. Unfortunately, over the internet without seeing her there really isn't much that we can do: getting her seen by your own vet really is the best thing to determine what's actually going on and what to do to make her more comfortable.

lthough PDSA aren't in a position to assist you, the RSPCA VetCare line may be able to help, so I'd suggest giving them a try next:

Good luck with her!
