Hello. I need some help with an opinion . I have to mention that the cat been checked physically at a vet but nothing helped . Siamese , female , 3y old and sterilised . So she acted like this 3 times from last summer til now . It’s a short scene for like 30 seconds . She starts to go in a hunting pose , meows weirdly (she never made these sounds ) and foams at the mouth . After that she is loving and affectionate . At the last check with the vet they looked in her mouth and recommended a pill. Can someone tell me if it’s normal behaviour or something is up .

Hi - what pill did your vet reccommend?  Did your cat try it?  This sounds to be happening three times a year - for how long?  What times?  Diarising it could help you to look for similarities / links between the episodes.   You may be describing sexual behaviour in a female cat, for example (which might explain the 'pill' - is that the sort of pill you meant?)  You could also be describing abdominal pain / vomiting for example as in pancreatitis, or potentially a breathing or neurological problem.   Your vet will by now have taken a good history and have a better differentials (possibilities) list than me.  They will then either:  a) start with what appears to be the most likely explanation and treat it, or b) do more advanced tests to start ruling things out.   Going back to them, working out where in that process you are and what needs to be done from here, sounds to be a good idea going forward.  Please will you let us know if you have any news?

Sorry - I have reread and seen that your cat is sterilied.  Even so there are conditions where hormonal signs may be seen, but they are less likely.

I also wondered whether it might be possible that your cat has licked a slug?
