Hello - for cats, anorexia (being 'off their food') is a symptom - and that symptom has lots of possible causes, commonly including problems with the teeth, stomach, liver, kidneys, endocrine system, bladder, heart, joints and brain. . Pancreatitis is a common one in older cats, and I mention it because it often needs its own special blood-test (the old-style ones don't pick up most cases). I wonder if your cat is caught between hungry and unable to eat, hence following you around. I am worried by your use of the word 'if' in this case because cats' metabolism changes when their bodies are hungry and they can become more sick, so it may be that there is an emergency element to this. If you call your vets, they will 'triage' the case in order to help you to decide.
