So the past few weeks my 7 year old male outside cat has been having issues he’s never had before. Bumping into things, having issues jumping up onto things and just being very cautious of things around him. Well I finally took a look into his eyes and saw these cloudy with specks of browns and greys in his eyes. He’s never had these until now. Not sure if anyone can give me a details or directions on what needs to be done so he can get back to his normal farm cat life.
Hello - please take changes in colour of the feline eye very seriously, as this can be a sign of cancer (or sometimes pigment or cysts) in the anterior (front) part of the eye / uveal tract. As a first opinion vet with no specialism towards eyes, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable diagnosing them, even if I could see them in 3-D using an opthalmoscope. My strategy to get the patient the best care would therefore be to refer the case urgently to an eye specialist if I had one locally.
