Hello! I noticed this bump on the side of my dog's penis today when he rolled over that made me a bit worried. He is a 4 year old mixed staffy about 30kg. He doesn't seem to be in any pain even when touched in the general area around the spot. He has other warts on him (pinkish in colour) that have not caused any trouble, but this is the first black one that developed and on a sensitive area. It is quite large and in a pointy shape. Should I be concerned? I will be grateful for any advice and input - thank you.
Hello - yes, I'd be concerned too. I think that you need to take this lump to the vets to get it checked. It could be that they need a biopsy before they can tell you what it is.
In general, the presence or absense of pain is no reflection of how serious a lump is - many types of cancer, for example, do not hurt - so a vet appointment would be a very good idea, just in case.
