That’s quite unusual - I’d strongly advise you get him or her to a vet as soon as possible - major causes include poisoning, brain damage and blindness.

Hello!  I'm unable to see the pupils on the picture.  The light glare appears to be obstructing them.  The question for me raises more questions than it does answers - does the pup appear to be lacking visually, for example?  How long has this been going on?  Are you used to looking at dogs' eyes / identifying the parts correctly?  Especially if it is a new thing, call an emergency vet for triage immediately as dilated pupils can, as David said, be a worrying sign.

Thank you both so much for your replies.  I have no hx on her. We just took her in from someone who was giving her away for a friend. I've had her for a week and the promised vet records have not been produced. Her vision seems to be fine, but she squints when outside in the sun or when I used a flashlight to examine them. Even when inside her irises are difficult to see.  I've done rescue work for 30 years so Im pretty familiar with the parts and how the eyes should look. I had a rescue with anisocoria. I'll get her in today.  Great appreciation. Mary-Ellen
