Hello,
Today a random puppy showed up underneath my porch. He came out eventually, for sure limping off the back right foot, but otherwise seeming skinny but okay. I've gotten a closer look at the little wiggler, and saw this on his eye:
Apologies for the poor image, but I didn't want to keep the LED in his eyes too long.
I want to know if it looks like blood, or a random spot. Local vets are all closed until Monday, so there's nothing I can do but wait and see if it grows for now. Can anyone tell me anything from the fuzzy picture?
Hello - and thankyou for this photo. As a general rule, diseases involving the eye are emergencies until proven otherwise and shouldn't wait to be triaged. Triage is the process of quicky assessing a case in order to establish how urgent it is and this should only be carried out by the vet or emergency vet who would be seeing the patient - always call them if you are unsure. This, for example, could be a uveal cyst, tumour, bleed or foreign body or painful corneal lesion (at a quick blurred glance in two dimensions) and I would normally have reccommended that it was seen because I cannot see enough from here to suggest that it was safe and wouldn't deteriorate.
