Good morning my 2 year old cat threw up worms two days ago. We were pretty sure theyre round worms and gave her a dose of bravecto plus yesterday morning to start treating them. She didnt eat her food last night and she had thrown up again this morning. This time there werent any worms in her throwup and she has started passing worms in her stool. I had read online that we will need to give her another dose or two in the coming weeks in case there are larval worms that werent mature enough to be killed by the first dose.
So the bravecto plus says its two months, but that is for flea prevention and not deworming right? And we cant apply more bravecto plus before two months right? So will we need to get a prescription for a different dewormer for her and when does that second dose normally occur?
Is there anything we can do to try and keep her environment cleaner and minimize the chance of reoccurrence?
Hello! Im afraid that I'm not in a position to speak for Bravecto or for your vet about a pet that isn't under my care, but a phone call to your vet nursing team may easily settle this one for you. Alternatively, Bravecto have their own telephone helpline and should correctly advise you on this matter.
