I have a 18lb French bulldog that was bitten by another dog. I have everything on hand to treat and care for the wound as I have a farm and often treat livestock and LSG’s. I have somehow misplaced the dosage for my Bactracillin. What is the ML per lb for dogs? SN: if anything changes or she worsens, she will be at the vet.

Hello!  That sounds sore.  Bactracillin kills gram positive bacteria and while it has many uses, is not the best choice for bite wounds.   I'm not sure what country / State you're in but this is a UK website and in the UK it is a legal requirement for antibiotics only to be given out if properly prescribed by vets for patients that are legally under their care.  Im not sure where your antibiotics are coming from, but we cannot support it.  If you search for antibiotic resistance in the blog then I'm sure that you'll find enough information to understand why, and the risks associated with the practise (as well as Gram -ve bacteria not being covered).  However you are right in that some antibiotics appropriate to bite wounds may need to be prescribed; therefore please contact the vet who is legally responsible for prescribing for your bulldog.
